In the summer of 1998, I wrote the song “One Thing Remains.” In the moments of completing it, I knew somewhere deep inside my being that this was the first song in what would ultimately become an album’s worth of songs. In February 2003, Soul Diving was released and “One Thing Remains” became the final track on that record. The following year, Soul Diving received two nominations at the 2004 Texas Music Awards. The first was a Song of the Year nomination for the track “Pray,” which was actually the last song written and recorded for Soul Diving. The second nomination was a Producer of the Year nod for Austin-based producer, Mark Addison (Band of Heathens, Bob Schneider, Sara Hickman) for his helming of the entire record.
